Alec Varnell is our pit boss at J-Bar-M Barbecue in Houston. Growing up in Texas, barbecue is in his blood. He's been smoking meats since he was a kid and operated his own catering and pop-up barbecue business, Big Daddy Karne Tex-Mex BBQ. Varnell believes in using his talents to help those in need and previously worked alongside The Relief Gang serving barbecue to those effected by Hurricane Laura in 2020 and Winter Storm Uri 2021.
Joining J-Bar-M was an opportunity for him to work with a team and continue to build his barbecue knowledge and experience.
